The scaffolding was inspired by traditional Japanese Home Architecture. They use space in interesting ways, playing with voids and opening, vertical and horizontal lines, organic spaces and, light and shadow, each having a meaning. This scaffolding was meant to represent the lines created in a Japanese home through these uses of space. It exhibits many vertical and horizontal lines with intersecting areas through out. The hydro-cal forms organic spaces mimicking the changes presented in the contrast between the structure and the art that fills the space. While the wood scaffolding structure created vertical lines I wanted the hydro-cal to represent organic space. Relating to one another in a circular formation rather than geometric.
